Slither.io is a free online multiplayer game where you play as a snake, and your goal is to become the longest and largest snake on the map. Sounds exciting, right? To achieve this, you’ll need to gobble up colorful pellets that appear on the map, as well as pellets from other snakes. The more pellets you eat, the longer your snake will grow!
Here’s a quick rundown of how to play:
- Cruise around the game area and munch on those colorful pellets to grow your snake. The more pellets you eat, the longer you’ll become!
- Watch out for other snakes - don’t run into them, or you’ll lose your snake. But, if you can cut off their path with your body, you’ll eliminate them and get to collect their pellets!
- As your snake grows, it gets both bigger and more challenging to maneuver. You’ll need to be careful not to bump into other snakes or the border, or your snake will meet its demise.
- Keep an eye on the leaderboard to see who’s currently the top snake out there!
Controls in Slither.io
Mouse:
- Move your mouse in any direction you want, and click to zoom in at full speed!
Keyboard:
- Spacebar/Up arrow key: Boost your snake to full speed and gobble up those pellets!
- Left arrow key: Turn left
- Right arrow key: Turn right
How to Boost Your Snake’s Speed?
Press the Spacebar or Up arrow key to give your snake a speed boost! When you release the button, your snake will stop boosting and return to its normal speed.
What’s the Benefit of Boosting in Slither.io?
Boosting allows you to eat those pellets super fast! While you’re boosting, your snake’s mass will decrease, but don’t worry - you can recover the lost bulk by eating the tiny pellets that appear where you boosted.
Types of Pellets
There are two types of pellets in the game:
- Normal: These pellets give you a bit of mass, but not as much as pellets dropped by other snakes.
- Chase: These pellets are super valuable and will give you more mass when eaten. They’ll even flee from other snakes!
